Summary[]

Nanase proposed that instead of waiting for Hōsen, they should negotiate with her. Suzune pointed out that the rest of Class 1-D wouldn't agree without Hōsen's permission. In response, Nanase explained that the reason for this was because she hadn't yet established herself as the leader but planned to do so. She believed that Hōsen's methods wouldn't lead them anywhere, and forming an alliance with Class 2-D was the first step towards achieving her goal. Nanase claimed that she had managed to gather support from seven of her classmates, with three of them having academic abilities of B- or higher. Suzune raised concern about Hōsen causing trouble if he found out about their alliance. To prevent this, Nanase suggested keeping their alliance a secret until the day of the exam and forming pairs at the last moment.

Suzune pointed out that even students with good academic abilities would still want private points. Nanase assured her that students with lower academic abilities could help make up for what those capable lost, with their own three months of private points. Kiyotaka reflected that they wouldn't need to attract outstanding students with points because less capable students in Class 1-D would take care of that. Suzune asked if it was too much responsibility, but Nanase replied that it was okay as long as she could help her classmates. After a moment of silence, Suzune restated her desire for an alliance with Class 1-D but rejected Nanase's proposal. She believed all their problems would be solved if she could win Hōsen over to their side. She didn't think Nanase truly wanted to be a leader; she just didn't like Hōsen's methods. Suzune was also worried that if she got into a conflict with Hōsen, it would divide their class. Suzune asked for another chance to convince Hōsen to join them, and Kiyotaka noticed that she had realized something important while listening to Nanase's proposal.

Nanase warned Suzune that if they failed, Class 1-D might never cooperate with them. However, Suzune remained optimistic, believing that they could still win him over. Nanase reminded her of Hosen's insulting behavior on the phone, but Suzune dismissed it, saying she didn't think much about it. Nanase smiled, saying that her hunch was correct, and revealed that she had planned to persuade Hosen all along. Kiyotaka realized that Nanase's proposal had been a test. She had given them the option of sacrificing Class 1-D's future for their personal gain, but she had never intended to help them under those conditions. Nanase promised to convince Hosen to meet with them, but she suggested to avoid public places, fearing Hosen's reckless behavior. Suzune proposed meeting in a karaoke room at night.

Upon receiving a call on her phone, Suzune lets out a sigh and reveals that the study group is short on members without her. She quickly departs, leaving Kiyotaka to handle the situation. Curious about Nanase's plan for convincing Hosen, Kiyotaka asks her about it. Nanase, however, deflects the question and instead asks Kiyotaka what kind of person he is, remarking that she finds him to be wicked and corrupt. Kiyotaka is surprised by this judgment, as he hasn't had much interaction with Nanase. He begins to suspect that Nanase might be the student from the White Room he's been searching for, given her attempts to get to know him. Nonetheless, he finds her words somewhat unusual.

Nanase commented that Kiyotaka seemed like a normal person to her during their conversation. When Kiyotaka asked if this meant he usually appeared unusual to her, Nanase denied it and asked him to forget what she said. To change the topic, Kiyotaka inquired why Nanase had said that the class would only lose 240,000 points if they didn't receive private points for three months. Nanase explained that if they kept the 800 class points they were given upon enrollment, it would total to 240,000 points. Kiyotaka mentioned that they had started with 1000 class points in their first year, and wondered if the other freshman classes had started with 800 points as well. Nanase confirmed this, saying that her teacher had explained the same at the start of their year. In addition, they were told that tardiness, absences, and talking during class could affect their class points. Kiyotaka speculated that the school may have reduced the first year's initial class points in exchange for an explanation of the rules. For a moment, Nanase's expression momentarily changed, as if she had just realized something.

Kiyotaka then asked Nanase if she knew what protection points were. When she expressed confusion, he explained that they were points that could prevent an expulsion, and only a few 2nd year students had them. He mentioned that he was sharing this information to thank her for the details she had given him earlier. After bidding each other farewell, Kiyotaka wondered if Nanase would be able to make use of the information he had shared.
