Summary[]
In the aftermath of Ryuuen's attempt to target her, Kushida reflects on the situation after Ayanokōji intervenes to defuse the conflict. Following their conversation, Ayanokōji addresses Kushida's concerns, emphasizing her value to the class. Despite initial hesitations, Kushida acknowledges her past mistakes and the burdens they've imposed upon her and Class D.
Ayanokōji reassures her about the lack of an imminent threat from Ryuuen, prompting conflicting emotions in Kushida. The unexpected support from Ayanokōji further unsettles her, causing her to question her reactions and past failures, burdening her with self-reflection. The exchange with Ayanokōji leaves Kushida feeling vulnerable and confused, especially when Ayanokōji expresses a liking for her genuine nature. Unable to look directly at him after his declaration, she turned to look at the wall, attempting to comprehend his words.
Her mind races through various thoughts, including a humorous but embarrassing incident involving Ayanokōji touching her breasts. This incident adds to her inner turmoil as she struggles to make sense of her feelings and dismisses the possibility of falling for Ayanokōji. Kushida engages in a mental struggle, attempting to convince herself that she cannot harbor romantic feelings for someone at school and that her only concern should be her own happiness. She recognizes the impact of recent events on her perceived weaknesses but attempts to regain control of her emotions and maintain her usual façade.
Finally, Kushida decides to reassure Ayanokōji about her well-being and look at him but is suddenly caught off-guard by his perceptive question, causing her to feel even more shaken and vulnerable. Kushida shakes in a state of confusion and disbelief, questions the sanity of her situation.
