"Apparent Difficulty" (当たり前の難しさ, Atarimae no Muzukashi-sa) is a short story from Toranoana's store privilege for volume 10 of You-Zitsu light novel series, together with other three short stories.
Summary[]
Ichinose was waiting in the shadow of a vending machine waiting for certain someone with whom she wanted to go to school together. Wanting him to come over fast, she felt it would have been better if she had contacted him beforehand to meet up and it was a mistake for wanting to wait for him and call out to him 'coincidentally'. She thought to call him out later but quickly discarded the thought as she had wanted to meet and talk to him that day. Then she saw Ayanokouji, the person she wanted to meet.
She called out to him before remembering that she hadn't thought of a topic to discuss and stiffening up. When he saw her like that, he called her showing some worry. She quickly thought of using her usual discussion topic and started talking about the march being unusually cold. Then she asked him if there was anyone he was planning to go to school with and asked if he wanted to go together with her to which he nodded. Realising how Ayanokouji had a troubled expression as she wasn't being her usual self and felt it was harder to talk with no topic in mind. Regardless, she felt talking to him was the right choice, and with those thoughts, she began walking by his side.
