"Atop the Cold Bench" (冷たいベンチの上で, Tsumetai Benchi no ue de) is a short story from Gamers' store privilege for volume 10 of 2nd Year arc of You-Zitsu light novel series, together with the other three short stories.
Summary[]
On a cold day, Morishita Ai sat on a bench along the route from school to Keyaki Mall, patiently waiting for Ayanokouji Kiyotaka to pass by. Initially dissatisfied with her posture, she attempted various adjustments without success until finding comfort in lying face-down on the bench. Relieved by the cool touch of the wooden plank against her face, she settled into a relaxed position to await Ayanokōji's appearance.
Upon hearing his voice, Morishita felt a sense of relief, fearing that a more extended wait might have left her frozen. Ayanokōji arrived, accompanied by Karuizawa Kei, who inquired about Morishita seemingly sleeping there. Responding to Kei's question about her presence, Morishita explained that she had been waiting for Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. Recognizing Ayanokouji as no ordinary student, Morishita expressed her curiosity and desire to observe him closely, seeking to confirm details with her own eyes and share information with her classmates. Her motivation stemmed from an effort to ensure that Class A maintained its position as Class A.
