"Feeling of Melancholy" (憂う気持ち, Ureu Kimochi) is a short story for volume 10 of 2nd Year arc of You-Zitsu light novel series, from the purchase of MF Tape J 091 collection, together with the other three short stories.

Summary[]

Sakayanagi Arisu, desiring to reject Ayanokōji's assistance, voiced her discontent with his manner of speech. Despite her rejection, Ayanokouji remained unfazed, explaining his presence with ease. She observed his tendency to express embarrassing thoughts effortlessly, a characteristic typical of him.

Ayanokōji pointed out her miscalculation regarding Kamuro's significance, penetrating her defenses with blunt yet impactful words that resonated deeply. While she acknowledged the manipulation of her emotions and thoughts, the words still managed to embed themselves within her. Opening up about her past experiences, Sakayanagi revealed that she had never made a friend throughout elementary and junior high school, considering her peers as low-level and immature. Ayanokōji's ability to understand her without judgment surprised her, prompting her to share more, acknowledging the mistake she made in the special exam.

As she recognized the unintentional bond she had formed with Masumi, Sakayanagi gradually felt alleviated. Despite acknowledging Ayanokōji's effectiveness in making her share her private thoughts, she couldn't help but view him as an "awful person".
