"Poker Face" (ポーカーフェイス, Pōkā Feisu) is a short story from Melon Books' store privilege for volume 4 of 2nd Year arc of You-Zitsu light novel series, together with other three short stories.
Summary[]
After arriving at her designated area, Kiryūin looks at the Top 10 list. She reflects on about Nagumo's way of fighting and how she greatly dislikes it. She holds no interest in him who she considered to be a finished product and wondered if Kōenji is the one who was truly worthy of her attention.
While thinking about that, she saw Ayanokōji, who she knew had the same table as her and called out to him. Despite being called by her out of the blue, Ayanokōji didn't seem surprised at all and greeted her normally. She attempted to rattle him and pry into his affairs by asking if he was a strong rival who was competing with her for the arrival bonuses. Ayanokōji avoided her prodding question and changed the conversation into revolving around her. He asked if she was interested in taking first place. After seeing him clearly directing the conversation towards her, she decided to drop her attempt at probing information from him and answered truthfully that she wasn't interested in taking first place but would reconsider it if both Nagumo and Kōenji took each other out.
When Ayanokōji asked her about Nagumo and Kōenji, Kiryūin said that even if Nagumo was taking it easy right now soon he would eventually make a move against Kōenji and they might witness an imminent battle between Kōenji and Nagumo soon. Hearing her answer, Ayanokōji nodded lightly and agreed with her statement.
Kiryūin felt that even though she is capable in judging a person's ability and personality by talking to them just once or twice, Ayanokōji was someone with a perfect poker face which she couldn't see through. She felt that she would be able to enjoy her remaining time until graduation with him and Kōenji present as they make things more interesting for her.
