Summary[]
Shortly before summer vacation, Sae Chabashira had called Kiyotaka to follow her to the staff room because she wanted to speak with him in private. When they arrive, she begins to tell him her story. She said that she also studied at Advanced Nurturing High School and was in Class D, however, the difference between them and Class A was only 100 points. They had a very risky strategy and everything fell apart due to a mistake which according to Chabashira was her fault.
Changing the subject, she explains that a few days ago a man contacted her and demanded that Kiyotaka be expelled from school. He replies that she can't expel anyone without a reason, and she admits that's true as long as the student doesn't cause trouble at school. Kiyotaka reminds her that he has done nothing wrong so far, but Chabashira interrupts him and says that what he thinks doesn't matter: if she says he did something, he will be held accountable. He gets angry and grabs her by the collar of her shirt, but she only says that the deal she proposes is to either make it to Class A or get kicked out.
On the Island, Suzune remarks that it will be interesting to watch the challenges faced by C-Class after they have spent all of their points. Instead, Kiyotaka believes that Ryūen's approach was perfectly sensible, since they won't have to strain themselves like the rest of the classes, and they will be able to stay on the cruise just like Kōenji even if they no longer have points. However, he remarks to himself that similar to what he thought this exam was not about saving points and adds that Ryūen's 0-point plan was indeed interesting.
The two go over to Class B's camp, where Ichinose greets them. Suzune felt that Class B was well-organized, and Kiyotaka agreed with her. While observing their camp, They notice a C-Class student and when asked, Ichinose reveals that there was a problem between him and his class, thus they ended up harboring him at their camp. Suzune tells her that a similar thing happened with Ibuki, who was simlarly welcomed into the D-Class camp. Hearing her, Ichinose says that she is amazed at how far Ryūen can go. Horikita then asks Ichinose if he knows anything about Class A's camp location, to which the latter replies that she knows where it is, but does not know what goes on there. After receiving directions, the two bid farewell to Ichinose and depart.
However, Class A did not allow anyone to visit and also had students keeping watch outside. After returning to the camp, Kiyotaka wondered what Kōenji meant when they were walking through the forest together. Kiyotaka then decided to go back where he went with Kōenji and Sakura earlier. Sakura insisted on accompanying him, even though she felt she might bring his pace down. As they walked, the two of them started talking about Sakura's work as an idol, and although Kiyotaka commented that she seemed totally calm when taking photos, she admitted that it actually took a long time because she gets nervous easily. After a while, the two of them sat leaning against a tree trunk and she confessed that at first she didn't like the idea of going on a summer vacation, but now that she could talk to him she felt better. Sakura regretted not having her digital camera because she could have taken an excellent photo if there was. Hearing her talk about a digital camera, Kiyotaka suddenly remembered what he saw in Ibuki's bag and guessed why she had a camera stored there.
He still didn't know what Kōenji was referring to as he couldn't notice anything out of the ordinary in that forest. Kiyotaka was thinking about his words when Sakura called him excitedly as she had found a cornfield. Judging from the color of the soil, he deduced that a person must have planted those crops. As she tried to think of how to get them back to their camp, two students appeared: Yahiko Totsuka and Kōhei Katsuragi.
