Summary[]
Katsuragi apologises to Kiyotaka and Sakura for catching them off guard. He agrees to let them take some crops because they were the first to arrive at the cornfield, but he cautions them that if they leave, others may follow. Kiyotaka mentions that they intended to return with more of their classmates in order to transport additional crops. Yahiko suggests that one of the two wait here while the other returns to the camp, but Katsuragi believes that going through the woods alone is not a smart idea, so he offers to assist them. Kiyotaka, on the other hand, declines his offer, stressing that they must be cautious with the other classes and will not allow him to accept their assistance. Katsuragi cautions him that if they leave, they may take all the crops, but Ayanokouji responds that if that happens, they will be powerless to do anything.
The Class D students were overjoyed to find that there was a cornfield on the island, and Yōsuke Hirata recommended that they go in groups to collect the crops. Fortunately, the corn crops were not taken by anyone else when they arrived. Class D had secured food and water for the time being by the fourth day of the exam. Despite the demanding lifestyle, the students were in good health and had no concerns. However, Kiyotaka considered that this was insufficient, because the exam, according to him, was based not just on teamwork, but also on obtaining information on the other classes; so, he determined that Class A would be his first target.
Kiyotaka travelled till he reached the island's coast, looking for a location he saw from the cruise ship. Looking through the foliage, he discovered a wooden ladder leading down the slope, which he descended to find a cabin. There were several unused tools inside, such as fishing rods. He took nothing but decided to draw a map of the area on the scrap of paper he had ripped from the manual. Kiyotaka remembered seeing a tower nearby and wanted to go there. He came across human tracks while strolling but did not see anyone. The tower appeared to be deserted, unlike the cabin. Kiyotaka noticed that the tower was near Class A's cave.
Suddenly, two students approached him and inquired as to what he was doing there, claiming that this area belonged to Class A. The two boys checked him for anything unusual and discovered the map he had made. So they inquired as to what the map was for and what he intended to do with it. Kiyotaka said that he couldn't say anything since it would make him hated in his class. One of the boys offered him private points if he revealed who the leader of his class was. He didn't reject the offer offer outright but instead asked how many private points they'd give him and asked if he'd be permitted to negotiate with someone he trusted, someone like Katsuragi. When they heard Katsuragi's name, the two boys became upset and said that they were on Sakayanagi's side.
Kiyotaka then proceeded to the Class C's camp. There was no one there except Ichinose and Kanzaki, who had come to try to figure out who Class C's leader was, but because Class C had most likely already spent all of their points, they had no choice but to withdraw. He inquired Ichinose if Katsuragi and Sakayanagi were feuding, but she replied that they simply had opposing viewpoints. Kanzaki stated that Katsuragi often does what he wants, but added that because of that he had trouble maintaining Class A in line without Sakayanagi's help. Kiyotaka was amazed that those two students were obeying Sakayanagi's commands despite the fact that she was not present for the exam.
