Summary[]
A few minutes before Kiyotaka Ayanokōji found Suzune Horikita unconscious in the forest; she had followed Mio Ibuki because she was convinced that it was she who had stolen her key card.
Ibuki stops at a specific tree. Once Suzune catches up with her, she demands Ibuki to return what she stole from her. Ibuki argues that if she had stolen the key card, she would not keep something so important with her; but Suzune points out that she never said anything about the card. However, she refuses to confess and begins to dig up something in the ground. In response, she warns her that if she does not confess she will search her by force. So, Ibuki seems to obey and puts her bag on the ground for her to search. Suzune reaches down to open it, but shortly after doing so, she leans back to dodge a kick from her.
She warns her that violence was against the school rules, but Ibuki remarks that no one was watching. The latter gives a shove to Suzune, who strongly fell to the ground. Ibuki prepares to hit her, but she manages to block it with her hand. Suzune asks her once again if she stole the key card and she finally admits that she did. However, Ibuki reiterated that she still had no evidence to charge her and is on guard for her next attack. Ibuki then throws a direct blow to her face, but Suzune dodges it and manages to hit her in the stomach.
Suddenly, Ibuki expresses her confusion because she thought she wanted to "get involved" in the matter. Since Suzune did not understand what she was talking about, she explained that it was not she who burned the manual. Ibuki believed that it could be someone from Class D who had discovered her. Suzune already had an idea who might have done it, but then; Ibuki caught her off guard and knocked her out. The latter comments to herself that she hadn't had such a troublesome opponent in a long time, and if Suzune wasn't ill then she might have been defeated.
Afterward, she finishes digging up a small bag. Ibuki notices that the hole she had dug was different, but didn't pay attention to this detail. She takes a walkie-talkie and flashlight out of the bag, and begins to contact someone. Later, she manages to see lights in the forest, and in response, she turns on her flashlight. The lights came from Kakeru Ryūen and Kōhei Katsuragi, who approach her to speak. Ryūen congratulates her on her good work, although she mentions that they wouldn't have to meet in person if her digital camera hadn't broken. He asks for the key card, and Ibuki gives it to him. He, in turn, passes it to Katsuragi, since he was the one who needed it. The latter checks that it was a genuine key card. Soon after, the three of them left, leaving Suzune unconscious along with the key card.
It is at this point that Kiyotaka arrives and approaches Suzune. He picks her up in his arms and starts walking.
