Summary[]
After falling down the hillside, Kiyotaka takes Suzune and places her under a tree to protect themselves from the rain. She wakes up again, and Kiyotaka explains that after her fight with Ibuki, he found her unconscious. He decided to take her back, but took a misstep, and they ended up falling down a hillside. So, Kiyotaka tries to convince her to withdraw from the test. Suzune argues that she can't do that because it would cost the class 30 points. Also, since the key card was stolen, someone else will most likely identify the Class D leader, which would cost them another 50 points. So she asks him to go back to camp without her, so that he can be there when there is roll call, adding that she will come back on her own in the morning. Although he knows that she would not be able to return alone in such conditions, Suzune implores him to leave calling him her "comrade".
Kiyotaka obeys and starts to leave, but as he was leaving, he notices that she had lost consciousness again. He picks her up again in his arms and points out that it would have been easier if she had agreed from the beginning. Kiyotaka believes that Suzune's way of thinking was almost correct, but she had made a serious mistake. He remarked to himself that he never saw her as his partner, nor did he worry about what might happen. He believes that life is all about winning, and nothing else matters. The reason it all ended like this was because of his plan, and she was quite helpful to him for that.
After walking for a while, Kiyotaka reaches the shore and manages to see the school cruise ship. He manages to convince the teachers to let Suzune rest on the cruise ship in exchange for removing her from the test. Also, as there were two minutes to go before 8 PM she will not be taken into account during roll call, but Kiyotaka will be marked absent for not being with his class. Lastly, he hands Suzune's key card to Sae Chabashira.
On the morning of the last day, the school prepares to announce the test results. Hirata approaches Kiyotaka to thank him for helping the class during the test, and he in turn thanks her for covering his absence during roll call. The two are surprised to see that Ryūen was the only person in his class who had not yet retired. He walks over to them to ask where Suzune was and is shocked to hear that she had dropped out of the test. Their conversation is interrupted by Tomonari Mashima, who is about to announce the results for the exam: Class C came last with 0 points, Class A came third with 120 points, Class B came second with 140 points and Class D took first place with 225 points. All Class D students are ecstatic to hear the results.
