Summary[]
Manabe tells Karuizawa that she knew that she was a victim of bullying from the moment she saw her. Kei tries to deny it, but Manabe confirmed that the information she recieved from that anonymous messenger was correct from her expressions. She orders her to kneel down and beg for forgiveness, but Karuizawa refuses. In response, Manabe starts pulling her by her hair and then kicks her in the stomach, causing her to fall to the ground. One of her friends tries to calm her down, adding that she didn't have to go that far from her. However, she asks Rika to kick her as well because, after all, they were doing this for her. Timidly, Rika steps in front of Karuizawa, and even though Karuizawa asks her to stop her, she gives her a weak slap. Manabe thinks that she should put more force, and as an example, she gives Kei a stronger slap. Rika eventually started hitting her harder as well.
Behind a door in the lower levels of the ship, Kiyotaka was witnessing this happening. He explains to himself that this type of situation simulates the Milgram experiment to some degree. The girls from Class C, including Rika, should have at least considered using violence against Karuizawa before coming here thanks to all the mishaps they've had with her. The isolated environment, the growing hatred they felt for Karuizawa, and the latter's cries of pain, are all factors that allow them to go to these extremes because it made them feel good. Kiyotaka states that this was what he wanted to achieve and decides to leave and wait for them to finish before returning, since he prefers not to be seen.
Watching Manabe and other girls walk out the door, Kiyotaka knew that they were done. He enters the room where Karuizawa was and finds her crying on the floor. Kiyotaka calls out to her, and she is startled to see him. He waits for her to finish crying, and when she calms down, she asks him why didn't Hirata come. He explains that Hirata couldn't come because a teacher had called him on an urgent matter, so he had came instead. Then Kiyotaka asks Kei the reason for crying. Karuizawa replies that it is because of Manabe and her friends and declares that she will never forgive them. She asks him to help her get revenge on them; however, Kiyotaka refuses to do so. Karuizawa taunts him by hinting that she was afraid of them, but he argues that such an eye-for-an-eye approach would only get him into trouble. The school might have to investigate this incident, and that is something she would aslo want to avoid.
Karuizawa was still unsatisfied as she believed they would attack her again, and Kiyotaka comments that it would be terrible if things went back to the way they were before. She did not expect to hear this, since it would mean that he also knows her past; even so, she doesn't let her guard down and asks what he means by that. He tells her that even though she enrolled in this isolated school from the outside and worked hard to secure a position as the leader of the girls, in the end she will always be a victim of bullying. Karuizawa tries to deny this, but he reminds her that just a few moments ago she was a victim of the girls from Class C, that she was a victim since she was a child and that's why she was determined to stop suffering. She asks him why he's being so arrogant, and in response, he tells her it's because he can expose everything if he wants: her fake relationship with Hirata, her past, and the recent incident with Manabe. Because of this, Kiyotaka warns her not to have that condescending attitude with him. Desperate, Karuizawa demands to know what he wants, asking if it's her body he's after. Kiyotaka puts a finger to her lips and comments that doesn't sound bad. Although she tries to run away, he holds her and threatens to reveal everything if she tries to escape. He then orders her to spread her legs. Although she was fed up, Karuizawa begins to spread her legs while insulting him, labeling him as a pervert who takes advantage of the weaknesses of others. Seeing this, Kiyotaka confirmed that she was willing to do whatever it takes to protect her past, and regards her as a useful tool.
