Summary[]
Ryūen tells them that he found out that Kushida was the VIP on the second day of the exam. Suzune thinks that he was lying since if he already knew, he could have finished the exam back then, and since he didn't, it indicates that he didn't really know. Ryūen confesses that he didn't do it because she seemed too confident of his victory, looking condescendingly at the others. So he decided to give her false hope until the end. Hirata asks how he knew that the VIP was Kushida. He tells her that the answer lies with Suzune. The movement of her eyes, her mouth, her breathing, her tone of voice; Ryūen claims that all this gave her away. She asks him to stop joking around and argues that Ryūen must have heard it after the exam ended. He taunts her, saying she does not want to admit it, since, according to him, she was the most incompetent of the whole group. He added that the exam was quite chaotic and mentioned that Class A would suffer the most because of it. Suzune asks him what he did. Ryūen tells her that she will soon know the answer.
Their phones rang at the same time, and a new message from school had arrived. The mail contained the results of the exam, specifically the results that each group obtained. It also displayed the class points each class earned and the total private points the students earned. Class C had the best results, earning 150 class points and 5.5 million private points in total. Class A, on the other hand, lost 200 class points and only got 2 million private points. Everyone was shocked by the result, except for Ryūen. He thanks Suzune, stating that her misfortune was what allowed the Dragon group to get the first result. He proposes to tell her how she got it if she gets down on her knees and begs. She rejects the idea fervently. Ryūen smiles at the expression on her face. He shows his phone to Hirata. Hirata notes that he had made a whole list of potential Class A VIPs during the exam. The list contained people from the rat, bird, and boar groups. Ryūen states that he managed to discover the root of the exam, and then concentrated on discovering only those Class A VIPs. He states that now his next target is Suzune. In the next exam, he'll make sure to go for Class D and rip it to shreds. Saying this, Ryūen gets up and leaves.
Hirata comments that he understands that he gathered information on Class A VIPs and discovered them, but he still didn't understand how they got the first result in the Dragon group. Kiyotaka thinks the method used was pretty simple. He explains that Ryūen may have announced that Kushida was the VIP just before the exam ended. The other members may not have wanted to just trust him, especially knowing his nature, but they may have also wanted to vote because there was no other better option. If they were wrong, it would only mean that they would get the second result, which was better than nothing. As such, even if they weren't sure it was Kushida, the first result would be more convenient. However, he thinks to himself that maybe he had some kind of absolute proof that anyone could trust. Kiyotaka turns to Suzune and warns her that they might have to face some obstacles in the future. She replies that if he meant Ryūen as an obstacle, there were no guarantees that he would be able to achieve results like these later on. Kiyotaka understands his point and admits that maybe he is thinking about it too much. But he remarks to himself that if his hunch turned out to be correct, then this would be their first step towards despair.
