Summary[]
Hirata, Kei, Suzune, and Kiyotaka were seated at a cafeteria table. Hirata informs them that he had learned how the VIPs were chosen for each group during the Cruise Ship Special Test. He explained that in order to identify the VIP, one had to arrange everyone's last names alphabetically and choose the member of the group corresponding to the number the animal falls under according to the Chinese zodiac. For example, "rabbit" is the fourth sign of the Chinese zodiac, and if they sorted the last names of all the members alphabetically and looked for the fourth member, they would get Karuizawa, the VIP of the Rabbit group in the exam. Karuizawa considers this to be a relatively simple pattern to discover. However, Suzune refutes her, saying that even though the pattern was relatively easy, finding it in the middle of the exam would be extremely difficult. She adds that it was because they didn't just need to know the identities of the VIPs from their class alone, but also from other classes, to verify the existence of this rule. Hirata assumes that Ryuuen has discovered this rule and used it to guess all of the VIPs from Class A. However, they wonder whether the students in Class C were actually willing to carry out his plan without betraying him, because if they were, they would have gotten a lot more points. Kiyotaka thinks to himself that if someone truly betrayed Ryuuen, Ryuuen would definitely seek and track them down with all his might.
Changing the subject, Hirata remarks that he is happy to be able to discuss it with Kiyotaka and Suzune, and adds that he hopes to establish a cooperative relationship between them. Suzune believes that if an exam similar to the zodiac special test were to be held again, it would be more beneficial for her to be able to cooperate with Hirata and Kei. She noted that it was fortunate for them that none of their VIPs were discovered. Kei announces proudly that it was because of her good poker face. Returning to the subject, Hirata proposes that they include Kushida in their group in order to further unify the class. Suzune instantly rejects his proposal, claiming that Kushida was not needed. Even though she doesn't deny that Kushida can influence a lot of her classmates, she believes that what Kushida can accomplish on her own are things which they can do as well. She states that it was the reason why Hirata and Karuizawa were there for, albeit it would be different case if they weren't willing to cooperate like a certain person. Suzune looks at Kiyotaka out of the corner of her eye, implying that she was referring to him. He claims that he is just another face in a crowd, someone with little presence. She claims that those who claim to have little presence are actually the contrary. Kiyotaka then questions if she considers herself to have little presence. Suzune flatly denied this.
During the next homeroom, Chabashira informs everyone that from that day, physical education classes would be increased in preparation for the Sports Festival the following month. In addition, instructions about the festival, as well as schedules, will be sent to all students' phones. Hirata asks if the sports festival would be counted as a new special test, to which Chabashira replies that they could go about it however they liked, since either way, it was sure to have a great impact on the class points. While Sudō was excited about competing in the festival, Suzune drew Kiyotaka's attention to a peculiar detail in the manual. Chabashira further explains to the students that every school year will be divided into two groups: white and red. Classes B and C will form the white group, while classes A and D will be in the red group. As a result, those in Class D will have to team up with those in Class A at the sports festival. The Class D students were ecstatic at being able to work with Class A. Kiyotaka informs Suzune that it could be a chance for her to grow closer to her brother, Manabu Horikita, to which she asks him not to bring it up right now. Chabashira advises them to carefully read the rules.
As they read the rules sent to them on their phones, Chabashira warns them that even if Class A performs well and the red team wins, Class D can still lose 100 class points if their score is too low. As a result, she advises them to compete with all their might without lowering their guard.
