Summary[]
As she continued with her explanation, Chabashira was asked how many points the winning team of the Sports Festival would receive, to which she replied that the winning team would gain nothing and would only be able to avoid having their class points deducted. When Ike inquired about the rule that stated that students who placed first in individual competitions would receive points for their written exams, She confirms that it was exactly how it sounded. She went on to explain that because he was weak in both English and math, he might earn extra points on his English or math exams in the upcoming midterms if he came in first place. When asked about penalties, she warns them that those who don't perform well in the sports festival and are ranked in the bottom ten would lose ten points on their written tests.
She then informs them that the festival's events are written on the sheets she provided them. These events were separated into two categories: mandatory and recommended. Every student must compete in the individual sports events, but the class must decide who will compete in the recommended-participant events. Furthermore, Chabashira informs them about participation tables, which they were required to fill with the names of the students who would compete in the events and the order in which they would do so. Suzune wonders what will happen if a participant is unable to attend the festival, to which Chabashira informs that if they do not have the required number of participants for the mandatory participation activities, they will be disqualified. However, In the recommended participation events, a substitute can be chosen if necessary in exchange for 100,000 private points. Before she finishes her explanation, Chabashira explains that they would head to the gym next period to meet students from different years and classes.
Later, in the gym, students from Class D meet students from Class A. Katsuragi approaches them, extending his hand and expressing his desire to work on the exam together. Hirata approaches him and shakes his hand, replying that he hoped for the same. Noticing a girl seated on a chair, Ike wonders who she is as she appears out of place at the gym. Katsuragi responds, saying that her name is Arisu Sakayanagi, and informs them that she will not be able to participate owing to her disability. Sakayanagi greets them and remarks that it was a shame that she couldn't help them much with this exam. Hirata and Ike both tell her not to worry about it. Kiyotaka recalls hearing about Sakayanagi. He remarks that even though she was absent from the deserted island exam, her faction had continued to grow, thanks in part to Katsuragi's losses. He was curious about what was going on within Class A, as well as how Sakayanagi fared against Katsuragi.
