"The Person I Love" (好きな人, Sukina Hito) is a short story from Melon Books' store privilege for volume 6 of You-Zitsu light novel series, together with another short story.
Summary[]
While Airi Sakura was heading to the Bunanoki shopping center alongside Kiyotaka Ayanokōji, she felt her heart beating relatively fast walking beside Kiyotaka. She explained how this pain was comforting, and admitted to herself that she loved Kiyotaka. In addition, Airi seemed joyful of how she was on a first name basis with Kiyotaka, as she didn't have the courage to do so in the past.
Airi tried to start up a conversation with Kiyotaka by mentioning the excitement she felt about going out with everybody which he agreed about. She then (accidentally) stated his first name aloud as she intended to only say it in her head, which confused Kiyotaka — realizing this, she quickly apologized.
After arriving to the cinema, she obtained the tickets, and happily noticed that she was beside Kiyotaka. Unfortunately for her, she heard the voice of Maya Satō, who got very close with Kiyotaka by hugging his hand. Due to this, Airi decided to distance herself from the two as she felt envious.
Maya started a conversation with Kiyotaka asking the whereabouts of their visit to the cinema while huging Kiyotaka's arm; this enraged Airi, and numbed her surroundings not believing what she was seeing.
Afterwards, she asked about Kiyotaka's status with Maya, and fortunately for her, it was just a misunderstanding regarding their relationship. However, Airi was still confused about them linking arms, which she also found to mean nothing, and Kiyotaka promised that it wouldn't happen next time.
Even though she was relieved, she had some dark thoughts about Kiyotaka hating her because of her constantly asking him weird questions, which made her feel sad. Kiyotaka noticed this, and told her that there is nothing to worry about, and he'll be there for her.
