"What Could Be Seen From That Back" (その背中から見えるもの, Sono Senaka Kara Mieru Mono) is a short story for volume 3 of 2nd Year arc of You-Zitsu light novel series, from the purchase of MF Tape J 060 collection, with other three short stories.

Summary[]

Nanase was taking part in the finals of the beach flags event against Tokunaga from Year 3. She believed she had an advantage against her in terms of strength and could beat her if she didn't make a mistake.

Soon, the sound of a pistol firing signaled the start of the event. Securing the lead at the start, Nanase maintained it until the end, eventually making her win the event. Even though she felt that showing her abilities to Ayanokōji, who was watching the event, would be disadvantageous, She couldn't hold back as she felt the need to show her full power at all times. After the event, she shared a handshake with her opponent and said that she knew about her as she had looked at OAA beforehand. Nanase went together with Tokunaga to wash off the sand before receiving her reward for the event.

After she came back, Ayanokōji congratulated Nanase for her victory. After congratulating her, Ayanokōji stared at her swimsuit while thinking about something. Nanase tried to overlook it but couldn't help but feel embarrassed by his stare. Unable to endure it anymore, Nanase asked Ayanokōji the reason he was staring at her. Ayanokōji apologized to Nanase and turned to look the other way.

Nanase thought that she should calm down after he stopped staring but wondered if moving together with him during the uninhabited island exam might become a problem. But she stopped herself from thinking that and decided to concentrate on her plan and take a bath to change the swimsuit and wash those unexpected feelings off herself.
