Summary[]
After leaving the dorms and looking at the wave of students going to and fro, yet not seeing any adults or children, Nanase wondered if she can live a relaxed life in such a particular environment. She wanted to enjoy the scenery spreading in front of her but discarded that thought after noticing Ayanokōji walking at a distance. Looking at him, Nanase noticed that he had been focusing on Class 1-A students walking in front of him. She thought it would be a demerit for her to ignore him get close to Class 1-A, she started running towards him.
Reaching him, Nanase called out to him to make him notice her. She then offered to call the ones walking in front of him if he had some business with them even though she knew he would refuse it. Getting the answer she had expected from him, Nanase walking beside him, thought that his presence was like a sharpened blade able to give a deep wound just by touching it lightly. She wondered if that's what made him a special person but believed that the only thing that mattered to her was whether he was 'Good' or 'Evil'. Wanting to get him actively involved with Class 1-D, she tried to forcefully deepen their relationship. She wondered if she would get him to ask her to become his partner before considering it as improbable. She continued to act her part to avoid looking unnatural and hoped to have what she wanted in due time. Ayanokōji then asked her if she had decided on someone to become her partner for the special exam. She answered that she was certainly asked by some upperclassmen to become their partner, but had avoided answering them. When asked for the reason to refuse them, She refused to give Ayanokōji an answer. Ayanokōji understanding her being not able to answer him corporate among their classes to find a suitable partner among themselves.
Nanase, who was also aiming for a similar prospect, consider her first contact with him a success. She looked at Ayanokōji while looking deep in her thoughts. She thought that 'You can't be judge people based on appearances' and believed it completely.
